At Hispana School we have developed a special Spanish program directed toward Brazilian residents and travelers whose native language is Portuguese.

The Spanish for Portuguese Speakers Course is a special program created by Hispana for travelers, immigrants, and professionals whose native language is Portuguese. Our course includes grammar, communication, writing, pronunciation, and intercultural competence. It emphasizes the principal structures, vocabulary, pronunciation, and spelling that cause the greatest difficulty for Portuguese speakers so that they can quickly recognize, process, and eliminate all the interferences with Portuguese for both spoken and written Spanish. The Course has 2 levels (Level I and Level II) each with a duration of 105 hours.

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:

Recognize, process, and eliminate all the interferences of their native language (Portuguese). Communicate with an improved level of grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and spelling in both written and oral Spanish.
Listening and speaking skills for effective communication over the telephone
Express himself clearly and correctly with cultural and linguistic competence in any context or situation.
Create coherent discourses orally and in writing.
Use a formal or informal style according to the situation and perceive others styles of language.

The principal topics of Spanish grammar are revised as well as those which are most difficult for Portuguese speakers. Our course will help you to recognize, process, and eliminate all the interferences of Portuguese at the level of grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and spelling in both written and oral communication in Spanish. Furthermore, the program includes authentic materials from magazines, newspapers, literature, and related conversation topics.
